Dear friends and followers,

After a fairly traumatic and challenging twelve months for our little family, I am taking a break from the flower farm for this season to focus on our family and health.

I will not be taking any orders or bookings for the foreseeable. I am devastated 💔

Growing flowers brings me so much joy and grounding, but sometimes life takes a unexpected change of direction, and while we figure out what that means for us, pottering quietly in the garden to reset and recharge is as much as I can do.

I hope to find a way to make sure that the flower farm still has a place somewhere in the future, but until then, happy gardening and flowering xx 🌿🌻🪻🌸

🌲⭐️🌲 CHRISTMAS WREATHS🌲⭐️🌲

Our Christmas Wreaths and Kits are online and available to order for the next 10 days!

Choose from a bountiful Seasonal Foliage Wreath, Forager's Winter Wreath or make at home kits. They will be ready to collect from
from 1st December and will last well into January and beyond!

Here's how we're making our wreaths as sustainable and planet friendly as possible...

🌲Made on a willow base (grown in our flower field)
🌲Straw covered base - moss is an invaluable habitat for so many creepy crawlies so let's not disturb them this winter
🌲Bound with compostable natural jute twine
🌲Seasonal foliage mostly grown on our farm - 0 road miles, 0 air miles, 0 chemicals
🌲 Decorated with natural, foraged goodies and dried flowers from the farm

Just remove the velvet ribbon to reuse and our wreaths are 100% compostable; no plastics, wires or nasties!

Polytunnels are a game changer when you're growing flowers for sale, especially at this time year!

Protection from the elements means stronger, taller stems and top quality flowers 🌸

Our first tunnel crops this year are ranunculus, orlaya, cornflowers, larkspur, ixia, antirrhinum, and sweet peas. Followed by ammi, dahlias, phlox, zinnia, antirrhinum and celosia in the summer.

Scented, spring cut flowers grown by members of Flowers from the Farm across the UK are set to decorate the Quire and the Grave of the Unknown Warrior
of Westminster Abbey for the Coronation Ceremony. The flowers are a gift to Their
Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla in celebration of Their Majesties’ Coronation from our membership association of artisan growers of local, seasonal cut flowers.

Flowers from the Farm has been working closely with floral designer and sustainable
floristry advocate to bring the beauty, joy and variety of
local, seasonal flowers to the heart of this historic occasion.

The flowers have been grown in harmony with the natural seasons, outdoors and in
polytunnels on flower fields, allotments, cutting gardens and walled gardens. Since every plot has its unique growing and weather conditions, the displays in Westminster Abbey of more than 4500 stems will reveal a unique floral tapestry of
springtime in the UK.
Flowers from the Farm members teamed up to relay buckets of fresh flowers to local hubs, regional hubs and then onto the main hub in South Gloucestershire, where they were sorted and prepared for Shane Connolly to arrange at Westminster Abbey.

The Coronation marks a landmark moment for the global flower farming movement.
It demonstrates that local, seasonal flowers deserve to be seen at state occasions
just as much as they do in bridal bouquets, funeral tributes or vases in the home.

Unfortunately, it's not all fancy tulips, beautiful bluebells and frilly ranunculus at the flower farm this week! It is also greenfly infestation week down at the tunnels. Arghhh!

So we've pulled out the big guns in an attempt to get on top of them and save the tunnel crops.

The children were very excited when a box of ladybirds landed on the doormat over the weekend! We're hoping they will feast on all the pesky aphids as quickly as possible 🙏
