We’ve been busy introducing children to the importance of fibre in our diets. But positive change doesn’t start and end at school. Creating lasting habits can be supported at home too.

Bulking out meals with beans or lentils, and swapping white bread or pasta for wholewheat options, are simple ways to start adding more fibre to your diet.

One month back and we're proud to share that we served a total of 443,131 school meals in September!

That’s a breakdown of:
🥕 321,296 primary school meals
🍎 103,405 secondary school meals
🥦 9,454 mixed-age school meals
📚 8,976 further education meals

We returned this term with revamped menus and new recipes, while welcoming six new schools to the Cleverchefs team.

It’s been a busy start to the new school year, and we’re incredibly thankful to all our colleagues behind every meal served. Here's to a great rest of term!

Harvest Festival is a great opportunity to teach children about the journey their food takes from farm to fork 🚜🍏

Understanding where food comes from and how it reaches their plate can help children appreciate the people behind their meals and become more curious about what they eat.

That’s why we create resource packs throughout the year, helping children learn about nutrition, where their food comes from and how to make positive, balanced choices.

Later this month, our Head of Food, Nathan, will be joining GDAS volunteer Curtis in the kitchen to prepare a special meal in celebration of Black History Month.
