Rams going out after heptivac yesterday, we are delighted with them on thier winter ration of hay and swedes, plenty to choose from for our sale in august.
Our team have been enjoying the weather over the weekend when out on thier early morning rounds, this weather makes a huge difference!
Sorting through ram lambs this morning, this fella caught the eye, ranked 8th on index in 🇬🇧 , out of a gimmer, used as a lamb and will more than likely be retained as a stock sire at Fearn.
Ewes and lambs are out, 🤞 the weather behaves.
Had to move the young bulls this morning as the field they were in was seriously wet, not ideal conditions for stock on forage but we are doing what we can either by finding dry spots or rolling straw out for them.

This is Plenderlieth Wizzard who joined us last year as senior Luing stock bull in our Sutherland Luing herd, we think he’s an awesome bull and just what we were looking for.
Congratulations to Craigdarroch who yesterday smashed the breed record in Castle Douglas getting 32,000gns for a Wizzard son, they also revived 19,000gns and 11,000gns for two half brothers.
It would be fair to say we are very excited about his calves hitting the ground in March.
New bull Palmerston of Upsall basking in the winter sun. He’s settled in really well, great temperament which you would expect from such a good home where he has been looked after really well.
We are lucky to have an awesome team at Fearn and today Emily Mosley who is our farms administrator won the agriscot business skills final! We are all very proud of her, it was a huge step for her moving to the north of Scotland and she has adapted really well. Will need to have a celebration at the end of the week!
Delighted that we managed to secure this new herd sire today in Stirling, well done to James, doing the bidding, it was a little nerve wracking. Looking forward to seeing him arrive home tommorow. Palmerston comes from a great home where he has been well looked after by George (get well soon) Maureen and John.
Mr Gerald Turton also needs a mention he’s bred some cracking cattle over the years and is still extremely enthusiastic about the breed.
