Calcott Turkeys Calcott's turkeys are reared annually at Wigginton Fields Farm, Tamworth, Staffordshire in time for Christmas.

The turkeys we use on our farm are reared and processed on site to make life as stress free as possible for our turkeys. The turkeys arrive as day old chicks from Kelly Turkeys, who have a reputation for breeding first

class quality birds. The turkeys are a slow growing breed, enabling them to grow normally over a 20 weeks producing a firm succulent breast meat. Their natural cereal based diet consists of grains grown locally with no artificial steroids or additives, which is available 24 hours a day along with fresh clean drinking water. The turkeys are processed on site to eradicate any stress caused by transport. They are hung and matured for a minimum of 5 days to develop that fuller flavour. Hand processing ensures each bird is individually and caringly prepared to a high standard.

Wigginton Fields Farm has been shaped by the same family since 1980, when Richard Calcott started farming here at just 16 years old.
From 100 turkeys sold locally to the family-run farm it is today, everything has grown steadily, guided by care, tradition and the people who walk these fields together.

When we say “free range”, we mean more than just a label 🌱 While we don’t currently have birds on the farm, when we do, they have plenty of green space, outdoor access, and the time they need to grow properly, not quickly 🌿 That’s better for them, and better for your plate
