The turkeys we use on our farm are reared and processed on site to make life as stress free as possible for our turkeys. The turkeys arrive as day old chicks from Kelly Turkeys, who have a reputation for breeding first class quality birds. The turkeys are a slow growing breed, enabling them to grow normally over a 20 weeks producing a firm succulent breast meat. Their natural cereal based diet consists of grains grown locally with no artificial steroids or additives, which is available 24 hours a day along with fresh clean drinking water. The turkeys are processed on site to eradicate any stress caused by transport. They are hung and matured for a minimum of 5 days to develop that fuller flavour. Hand processing ensures each bird is individually and caringly prepared to a high standard.
