The Chronicles of Ted, the Sheepdog ๐พ
Meet Ted, our 12 year-old collie who has recently retired from rounding up sheep and is now living the life of leisure on the farm. His days are spent riding around in the Land Rover, supervising the younger collies and generally making sure everyone knows whoโs really in charge.
Ted has taken to retirement rather well. Every morning, at precisely 10.30am, he heads over to see the neighbourโs builders, conveniently coinciding with their breakfast break.๐
Not too long ago, he decided to take himself off for a Sunday stroll to the local pub (and by local, I mean 2.5 miles away). He was eventually found sitting happily by the log burner, being hand-fed roast beef. We only realised he was โlostโ when we spotted a Facebook post about him, so naturally, we went to collect him. He was not impressed. ๐
Yesterday, however, Ted decided that retirement had become a little too boring and thought heโd try his hand at cliff jumping.
Unfortunately, he got himself stuck halfway down the side of the cliff, with another drop to the beach below. So, with no way of safely getting him back up, we had no choice but to call the fire brigade. ๐
When the fireman finally managed to reach him, Ted greeted him with plenty of kisses, because apparently, even in the middle of a rescue operation, thereโs always time for a little attention.
Eventually, Ted was pulled back up to safety, completely unfazed by the whole experience. In fact, weโre fairly certain he quite enjoyed all the fuss.
All jokes aside, a huge thank you to our local fire brigade and coastguard for rescuing our lovely Ted. Weโre incredibly grateful. ๐
And Ted? Heโs already back to supervising the farm as if absolutely nothing happened.
