Sunflowers, this weekend only!

Despite the exceptionally hot and dry summer, and after months of struggle, our sunflower field has come into bloom!

The show is not quite as dazzling as previous years, however we still have over a million beautiful flowers for you to pick and enjoy.

We will be opening the field over the Bank Holiday weekend from Friday, August 28th to Monday, August 31st.

Our opening hours will be 10am - 5pm, and as well as the sunflowers there are a few delicious late-season Raspberries to be picked, and refreshments in the cafe.

Entry is £5, and includes a dozen flowers for you to take home. Dogs welcome, please bring your own secateurs or scissors if possible, however we do provide these if you need them.

The Strawberry bushes are absolutely loaded with perfectly ripe fruit this week, just in time for Wimbledon!
We also have plenty of Raspberries, Gooseberries and Blackcurrants available.

If ever there was a week to visit Thurloxton, this is it! The weather is looking balmy into this weekend, so come and enjoy a day out picking the freshest fruits in the beautiful Somerset countryside, maybe followed by one of our locally made ice creams.

The heatwave has ripened our fruits perfectly for the coming weekend - We have plenty of very sweet Strawberries, Raspberries, Gooseberries and Blackcurrants available to pick as well as delicious locally made ice cream, honey and refreshments.

Entry is free, and we are open every day 10am - 6pm. Come on down for a glorious family day out in the Somerset countryside!

Fruit Update:
After a very busy first Saturday, there are not many Strawberries available today (Sunday 14th). We advise waiting until next week.

We are now OPEN for Strawberries!
We also have plenty of flavourful Gooseberries available now, with Raspberries and other fruits coming soon.
Our opening hours are 7 days a week, 10am-6pm. No need to book, just turn up!

All three generations out this afternoon planting the pumpkin patch!

We direct drill our pumpkin seeds into rye, which we then roll down to create a thick mulch, suppressing weeds without chemicals and conserving moisture.
Regenerative techniques like this allow us to improve the health of our soil, and help us remain Carbon negative.

We also had a drone on the farm this morning, which we're using to spread clover seed on our wheat. The clover will grow as a 'living mulch' under the crop, protecting the soil after harvest, fixing nitrogen, and encouraging mychorrizal fungi.
