Temperatures have risen again today, and it looks like we’re heading into another heatwave.

With that in mind, now is a great time to stock up on **Vitastress C** and keep a box or two on the shelf so you’re prepared when the temperatures climb.

Being ready before the heat arrives is key to supporting your birds through periods of heat stress. If you’d like to top up your stock, just drop me a message and I’ll be happy to help.

Ever wondered what goes into one of our customer orders? 📩

Not every order leaves us on a pallet! Whether it’s a single product, a mixed “pick ‘n’ mix” order, or a full pallet delivery, every order is packed with the same care and attention before heading out to our customers.

We’re a real family business, and today my daughter was lending a hand (or at least keeping me entertained! 😂). She’s already got her own Poultry Management Services work tops on order, so I think she’s making herself part of the team!

Join us as we pack one of today’s mixed orders, explain a few of the products along the way, and enjoy the running commentary from my very cheeky assistant.

No scripts, no fancy editing... just a real day at Poultry Management Services.

If there’s a product you’d like us to explain in more detail, let us know in the comments or send us a message!

23 years
 what an incredible milestone. 🎉

Yesterday marked 23 years since my dad, Robin, took a leap of faith and started the business. Somehow the day passed without us posting about it, but it’s a milestone that’s far too important not to celebrate.

I was there in the early days before heading off to follow my own path, and for the past 14 years I’ve been lucky enough to be back working alongside Dad, helping to continue growing the business together. Looking back, it’s incredible to see just how far his vision has come.

Twenty-three years hasn’t always been easy. Like every business, we’ve faced challenges, celebrated successes, adapted, learned and grown. Through it all, one thing has never changed—our passion for what we do and our commitment to giving our customers the very best service we can.

To those who have been with us from the very beginning, those who have joined us along the way, and those who have only recently become part of our journey—thank you. Your trust, loyalty and support are the reason we’ve been able to do what we love for the past 23 years.

One of the things we’re most grateful for is the people we’ve met along the way. So many customers have become friends, and that’s something we’ll never take for granted. Building relationships has always meant more to us than simply building a business.

As we reflect on the last 23 years, we’re incredibly proud of what has been achieved—but we’re just as excited about what’s still to come. We’re still growing, still learning, still investing in the future, and still loving what we do every single day.

From our family to yours, thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to the memories we’ve made, the friendships we’ve built, and many more years ahead.

❀ Happy 23rd anniversary to our business—and thank you to everyone who has made it possible.

Repairs to carry out, deliveries to make, and a few curious hens checking we’ve arrived. 🐔
This is what supporting poultry farmers looks like—being there when it matters.

4:55am. The alarm goes off. ⏰

First stop? Walking Ralph before the working day begins and it’s too hot!! đŸ¶

By 6:30am I’m on a broiler farm, suited up and cold fogging five sheds ahead of day-old chicks arriving at 9:00am. đŸ„
Before the chicks land, we also delivered Chick Gel, making sure everything was in place for the best possible start.

That was just the beginning...
Back to the unit to unload, grab a quick breakfast and a much-needed cup of tea before the day really got going. ☕

The rest of the day looked something like this:

🚐 Reloading the van for Michelle’s local deliveries.
📩 Packing courier orders including electrolytes, fly control, Rotomaid spares etc
📞 Answering customer calls, processing new orders and speaking to new enquiries.
📋 Putting together quotes for vitamin programmes and Chick Gel.
đŸ—ïž Stacking, strapping and wrapping pallets—including Vitastress making its way to Bonny Scotland.
☎ Calling our Cornish customers to check if they needed anything before tomorrow’s delivery run.
🚛 Unloading incoming stock before heading back out to complete a couple more deliveries.

By 7:00pm, the van was empty, the warehouse was tidied, tomorrow’s deliveries were organised... and it was finally time to head home. đŸ„±

People often see a product arrive on farm but rarely see everything that happens behind the scenes to make it happen.

Every day is different. Every customer has different requirements. And that’s exactly why I love our family business!

When flock performance isn’t quite where you’d expect, what’s the first thing you investigate?

Most people think of feed, ventilation or flock health.
But one area that’s often overlooked is water.

It’s easy to assume that if water looks clean, it is clean. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case.
Water is the nutrient birds consume the most. If its quality or hygiene isn’t where it should be, it can influence intake, bird health and overall performance long before visible signs appear.

One of the first questions we ask customers isn’t, “What product are you using?” It’s:
“When did you last review your water system?”

After more than 20 years of working with poultry producers across the UK, one thing has become clear: getting the fundamentals right often has the biggest impact.

At Poultry Management Services, we’re passionate about helping farmers improve water hygiene and bird performance—not just by supplying products, but by sharing knowledge and practical advice.
