Margaret Purdey came to Higher Barn in 1989 with her husband and six children. Originally a dairy farm but now run as a Sheep and Goat Farm. Margaret and her daughter Holly entered into a partnership in 2015 . We are both passionate about creating a high welfare, sustainable and wildlife friendly farm. This is being created by rearing grass fed lamb which means they are fed no concentrates through

out their life, therefore reducing costs and helping to reduce agricultures carbon footprint. We also have a small Boer Goat herd producing high quality goat meat, during the summer months the herd help control the weeds across the farm reducing any need to use herbicides. Our meat offers a sustainable alternative to intensively reared supermarket produce on offer.
