We have a vacancy for a Part-Time Post Office Assistant and Shop Supervisor to provide the full range of services under the current Post Office contract including:- postal services; postal orders, sale of foreign currency and banking services plus dealing with parcels for Amazon and DPD. This is a part-time position working a full day but an average of 17.5 hours per week spread over a 3 week cycle including early starts and working one Saturday morning in three. Cover for sickness and holidays is also a requirement.
You must be literate with a high level of numeracy and competent with Microsoft computer systems. Previous experience in a Post Office or Banking would be an advantage. Ideally this would suit someone with a mature attitude looking for a part-time job

Work includes checking in/out papers and magazines, pricing goods, assisting volunteers in the shop, ordering stock and cashing up the shop till.

We are a community enterprise and much valued by our customers who are very supportive.

Salary: £13.70 per hour. Enquire at the shop.

We have a large number of fire engines and specialist vehicles dealing with a house fire in Oake Close, Oake.

Avoid the area and close windows and doors if you live nearby.

Please note that the POST OFFICE closes between 12:30 -13:00 every weekday to allow the staff a lunch break.

The SHOP remains open during this time.

We've just realised that we haven't introduced our lovely new Manager Cathy to you! Well here she is! Cathy used to run her own shop in Devon but more recently has lived locally and been one of our customers, so she completely understands us. The PO system holds no fears for Cathy and she has hit the ground running. Please say a cheery 'Hello' to her next time you're in the Shop & PO. We all look forward to seeing you soon.😊
