Let’s get loud about this, wine friends: campaign is aiming for 1 million signatures to force parliament to seriously consider a 10% reduction in VAT for hospitality businesses, to fall in line with the rates across the rest of Europe

3 hospitality businesses close daily due unaffordable costs. We have heard first hand from our amazing customers how difficult the last few years have been, with constant rising costs, and a reduction in VAT would go a long way to helping.

and the team behind the movement write: “A lower rate of VAT will reduce the cost pressures facing our sector, and it will mean more venues are able to stay open, rather than close the doors for good. Because when hospitality businesses close, communities lose far more than places to eat and drink - they lose connection, opportunity and local identity.
And people lose jobs. 100,000 jobs have gone in the last two years alone – and many workers have seen their hours cut.

We’ve signed - make sure you do too, to support your local eateries, hotels, pubs and cafés etc 🥂

Some recent drops we’ve been loving - including one of the best crémants we (collectively agreed) have ever tried 🥂

Will our portfolio ever stop growing? Probably not when the wines this good 😉🍇

New to our ever changing portfolio: Coto de Caleruega Roble, Ribera del Duero 🍷

A new project, from the north western corner of Ribera del Duero, in its first vintage, but hugely impressive

Super high altitude vineyards, and clay soils (amazing for hefty structure). Mostly Tempranillo, with a touch of Merlot to soften robust tannins, and time spent in oak - this is a big boy with a lot of finesse 🍇

Drop us a DM if you want to find out more 🙌

Wine Highlight: Chateau de Mille Saint Lucide Blanc, Provence 🍇

A wine that is hugely popular with our team at the moment (Mike and Laura won’t stop banging on about it), this amazing white Provence from beautiful Luberon.

Château de Mille, located between Apt and Bonnieux, is the oldest wine estate in the Luberon (dating to 1238), featuring 25 hectares of organic, high-altitude vineyards managed by Constance and Lawrence Slaughter since 2018. Aged for 9 months in concrete eggs, old oak demi-muids, and stainless steel vats. A complex blend of Ugni Blanc, Clairette and Rolle.

Hugely gastronomic, expect vibrant aromas and flavours of white peaches, pears, green apple, and blood orange, with delicate floral and herbal undertones

Bit late to the party, but Happy International Women’s Day! 🥂
We have been celebrating International Women’s Day with a line-up of bottles shaped by brilliant women in wine; women who lead from the vineyard to the cellar. 🍷✨

1. Col Di Lamo Brunello di Montalcino is deep, structured and expressive, with plum, blackberry, spice and a long, soothing finish. Col di Lamo is an all-female Montalcino estate led by Giovanna Neri and her daughter Diletta, whose passion has made the winery one of the standout names in the area

2. Parent creates Burgundy with finesse, balance and elegance, from a house run by sisters Anne Parent and Catherine Fages-Parent, 12th generation custodians of the family estate. Their work combines deep family heritage with organic farming and biodynamic practice.

3. Clos des Nines Cinso Loco is 100% Cinsault from 40 year old vines, full of red fruit, freshness and a little peppery lift. Clos des Nines was built by Isabelle Mangeart after a complete career change into wine, and the estate was named for her three daughters, the “nines.”

4. Kate Radburnd Syrah (that we retasted only yesterday) is elegant, floral, dark fruited and beautifully restrained, just like the style Kate has become known for. Kate Radburnd is one of New Zealand’s most respected winemakers, with more than 40 years in the industry, and has also played a major role in mentoring and championing women through New Zealand Wine’s Women in Wine initiative.

5. Nyetimber Cuvée Chérie, named after the woman who created the wine, was England’s first demi-sec sparkling wine, with 100% Chardonnay bringing notes of lemon, honey, mineral freshness and a touch of tangerine. Behind it is Cherie Spriggs, Nyetimber’s Head Winemaker, who made history as the first winemaker outside Champagne, and the first and only woman to win Sparkling Winemaker of the Year at the International Wine Challenge.

6. Lyrarakis Assyrtiko, a bright, mineral Assyrtiko from Crete’s Voila vineyards, with citrus, white fruit and a subtle ginger edge. The winemaking has been guided by Myriam Ambuzer, whose philosophy centres on precision, purity and authenticity of Cretes beautiful terroir in the glass.
🥂🍷

Radburnd Cellars is pure Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand: a small, ultra premium project founded in 2017 by legendary winemaker Kate Radburnd (40+ vintages under her belt). 🍇🇳🇿 Kate’s all about small parcels, handpicked fruit, and restraint with elegance, and the range is beautifully focused: a poised Chardonnay, a refined Syrah, and a seamless Merlot Cabernet blend that are amazing to pair with. If you want Hawke’s Bay class in three bottles, this is it. ✨🍷
