Dear Valued Customers

I am writing to share a difficult update regarding an incident that occurred a few weeks ago.

We unfortunately experienced an attack on one of our laying flocks. While no one has come forward and we cannot be entirely certain, the nature of the incident suggests it was a dog attack. Tragically, we lost over a 3rd of the flock, many of whom passed away during the attack, while others were left in significant pain and had to be humanely put down.

As many of you know, our laying hens are protected by an electric fence and are moved to fresh ground alongside their mobile housing every few days to ensure they always have access to new pasture. Because our hens are kept in areas close to popular walking routes, they are frequently near passing walkers. Up until this point, we have been incredibly grateful for how responsible local walkers have been with their dogs.

We wanted to share this news to raise awareness. We kindly ask that everyone walking in the area continue to keep a close eye on their dogs and ensure they are kept under control near the livestock.
