A welcome visitor by the waterways today 🏞️ ✨

With the warmer weather, dragonflies and damselflies have been cropping up around the streams in and around the villages.

They are an important indicator species of the quality of water – both start their life in and around water as larvae, then growing into nymphs before emerging in their winged form. Their populations are strongly impacted by the water quality, so seeing them here is a good sign!

We all also benefit from their help in controlling populations of mosquitos, midges and other pests to crops, while also providing food for animals such as fish, birds, and bats.

Wishing a Happy Father's Day to Head Gardener Harry, and all other fathers & father figures!

Harry keeps active both at work and outside, with a love of early morning cycling, and a keen artistic eye with his background in photography always visible in the beautiful Overbury Court gardens.

It has been an amazing year for roses, just look at these looking beautiful in the sunshine! 🌞

Our Team and our tenants work hard to keep the village looking like it does and at this time of year a key part of this is the roses in people’s gardens.

Remember if you deadhead them and tie them in now you will probably get another flush of blooms later in the summer. Lets hope they are in full bloom this time next year for the village open gardens 🌸🌿

Meet Clare & Daphne! 🐾

Clare undertakes a wide range of work, from dealing with our residential and commercial tenancies to advising on estate and enterprise matters.

She joined us in Overbury in 2024, having relocated from South Devon where she advised a range of clients and estates whilst gaining her qualifications as a Rural Chartered Surveyor and Agricultural Valuer.

Daphne, the Labrador, has recently joined us as a full-time office dog – although you would hardly know it as she stays glued under Clare’s desk, quietly playing with her toys!

Both the hatchery, and bird box at the nursery have seen a flurry of activity with the return of the blue t**s.

Our teams had a fantastic day planting in Kemerton Walk at Overbury Court 🌱

The Estate Office, Farm, and Gardening teams took turns planting a colourful range of flowers, grasses and shrubs for a beautiful summer display, including Foxglove, Feather Reed Grass and Echinacea.

Thank you to our Head Gardener, Harry, for organising it!

It has been lovely to see Community Coffee Mornings picking up ☕!

📆 Come for cake and a natter at the Overbury Village Hall, every first Wednesday of the month between 10:30 am - 12:00 pm. The next one will be this Wednesday the 3rd of June.

All donations for cake go back to the community, helping fund the roof repairs at the beautiful St Faith's Church in Overbury.
