Wolfburn Distillery is located in Thurso, in the very north of Scotland. It is one of the most northerly whisky distilleries on the Scottish mainland. Established in 2013, it is a relatively young distillery that has quickly gained a reputation for producing high-quality multi-award-winning single malt Scotch whiskies. The distillery takes its name from the original Wolfburn Distillery, which was

founded in 1821 but ceased operations in the 1850s. Wolfburn's Whisky is known for their smooth, clean, and well-balanced flavors, and the distillery offers tours for visitors to learn about the whisky-making process.

We do not often shout about awards. But when Jim Murray reviews 4,200 whiskies in a year, calls our Cask Strength "a masterpiece from the far north," puts in the top 10 in the world with a score of 95/100, and then gives every other whisky in our current range five stars on top of that, it feels like the kind of news worth sharing.

We are a small, independent distillery in Thurso. Copper pot stills, local water, no shortcuts, no artificial colouring. These scores reflect what happens when the craft is right. When our friends at Horse Soldier Bourbon made the journey to Thurso, it wasn’t just a visit; it was a shared commitment to craft.

Working side by side with the team at , they learned the process, rolled up their sleeves, and laid down a cask of their own.

A decade on, that whisky has come of age.

It’s been a privilege to see it through to bottling, now making its way to the USA to be enjoyed as intended.
