And they're back. Edgehill Irwin and Touch and Go have arrived safely home from Molland Ridge Stud, where they have been expertly looked after whilst bonding. Touch & Go was very excited to be home and did for a few minutes forget she had a foal! Thanks Jess for looking after them so we'll.

Some good news! Touch & Go and Irwinn bonded from the moment they met. No sedation or anything needed and she is producing milk. All being well they will back from Molland Ridge Stud where they have been to get use to each other and receiving top class care. This really is a special mare and worth her weight in gold. At 22 once this foal is weaned she will be having a well deserved retirement and live her life out mooching around the fields

Edgehill Fynn registered Suffolk Stallion by Stockton Boxer out or Edgehill Baroness Beatrix (Shotleyfield Dazzling Duke) will be potentially looking for a new home in August.

This 3 year old stallion has been running with mares this season and has 3 confirmed in foal with one still left to scan. This is a unique opportunity for a blank canvas to continue his breeding career or start basic work. He will only be leaving for the right home so please only message if serious.

As a fellow breeder said very recently you have your high's and your very lows with these horses. We have had 2 weeks of absolute wrap that makes you question why you continue.

1st 2 weeks ago we had a gorgeous c**t born to our old warm blood mare. All was looking good until day 3 and the foal went down hill rapidly. By the evening of day 4 and after 6 vets visits iv fluids and plasma transfer we lost him. This was exactly the same as the foal born the year before and we have subsequently established that the mares blood type reacts with the foals and basically kills it.

Fast forward to our c**t foal born to Holbeache Kirsty. All looked well and then she showed colic signs. Having battled for 3 days and 9 vets visits we sadly lost her this evening. 😢 Post-mortem pending.

We had made the decision to take Irwinn off of her last night with the intention to bottle feed him, however the old girl Touch and Go stepped up and has gone to Molland Ridge Stud with the foal and is fostering him. Which i couldn't be happier with.

People think breeding is easy and wonder why foal aren't cheap. This is why apart from the costs it is devastating when things like this happen!

9.30 last night Holbeache Kirsty decided to foal in the field. She was adamant that she wasn't going to foal in the barn, even though she had been running milk for 24 hours and been super friendly! Edgehill Irwinn is the first foal by Edgehill Fynn.
Pleased to say that after foaling and whilst still down Kirsty reverted back to type with her ears back and this morning not letting me near her!
