🌿 The story behind The Willow Tree 🌿
The Willow Tree has been quite a journey over the last few years 💛
It all began in 2022 on a smallholding, where I started building a small rural business from the ground up. I raised Kunekune pigs, supplying pork and sausages locally, and also sold fresh chicken and duck eggs within the community.
Over time, I expanded into breeding animals including Angora rabbits and guinea pigs, and even began working with sheep. Alongside this, I set up the Witheridge Farmers Market, which I ran for about a year before passing it over to a committee — and it’s still running today, which I’m really proud of.
As the business grew and changed, so did my focus. I stepped away from farming and began concentrating more on creating homemade products — something I’d always enjoyed alongside everything else.
Today, The Willow Tree is all about small-batch chutneys, jams, sauces and sweet treats, made with care and quality ingredients 🌶️🍯
I still attend local markets from time to time, and I’m excited to keep growing this next chapter (with more crafts coming soon 👀).
