Old Ballantruan Old Ballantruan single malt wh**ky is like no other, using the purest of waters from the Ballantruan Spring & peat from Speyside.

Old Ballantruan derives from one of the purest water sources known as the Ballantruan Spring nestled in the Cromdale Hills, near the highest village in the Highlands of Scotland. The secret to our incredible and delectable tasting wh**ky is the Peat we use from Speyside which is one of the only handful of peats from this region. The two unique combination creates a magical, smokey and smooth Wh**ky known as The Old Ballantruan.

A fantastic result for Old Ballantruan at the 2026 Scotch Wh**ky Masters.

We’re delighted that both Old Ballantruan Smokey Original and Old Ballantruan 15 Year Old have each been awarded Gold Medals by the prestigious competition.

These awards recognise the distinctive character of our peated Speyside single malts and reflect the passion and expertise of the team at Tomintoul Distillery, who carefully produce Old Ballantruan during a short production window each year.

A remarkable result for Old Ballantruan 🏅

We are incredibly proud to announce that Old Ballantruan 10 Year Old has been awarded Double Gold at the 2026 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, achieving an impressive 99 points out of 100 in the competition’s blind tasting.

This recognition reflects the dedication and craftsmanship of the team at Tomintoul Distillery.
