Today is a very sad day...
After more than 50 years in the fresh produce industry we have made our last every delivery, nearly 7 decades after Ron Chalker made his first delivery from a corner shop on Tweedale street in Rochdale.
To close down was a very hard decision to make, one which was not taken lightly. However the time is right for me to move on to other things and the overwhelming feedback and support I have had from all the staff and customers has been unbelievable.
For over 60 years, as well as supplying quality fresh produce, Ron Chalker (The Potato Man) Ltd has provide the local people of Rochdale with jobs and a living and still to this day people will tell me stories and reminisce about the good times and hard times which is always very touching.
However, this era is now at it's end and I can't thank all the staff and loyal customers enough for all the support over the 4 generations that has kept this family business going.
