Who fancies sausages this weekend!! ☝️

It’s a double market Saturday, so we’ll be at the Truro Farmers Market and The Food Barn - Tregew.

This week’s sausage flavours are….

Traditional pork
Pork chipolatas
Boerewors
Smoked pork, apricot and sage
Italian sausage
Spring onion, garlic and ginger
Pork, garlic and herb
Curried pork
Pork, apple and c***r

We also have some of our homemade gluten free hogs pudding flatties! 😋

Of course, there will also be all the usual home produced pork cuts, and our fabulous home cured bacon.

It’s September!! 🍂 So, it’s stuffed marrow for tea tonight here at the farm - one of our favourite autumnal meals. It’s our own savoury pork mince with a beautiful marrow from tregarrianfarm 😋

Callum will be at the Truro Farmers Market tomorrow with all the usual home produced pork, sausages and bacon.

Thank you for all your incredible support again this week - we honestly couldn’t do what we do without you!! 🥰

It’s looking like another busy week here on the farm. Apart from the usual farm malarkey, we’re hoping to get this autumn’s cover crops planted on the stubble fields which have just been harvested. We’ll keep you posted.

Harvest home 2026 🌾

So, this is the last of the small bales coming in, and that’s this year’s harvest finished!

Only a few weeks ago, the crops were looking absolutely fantastic - but it doesn’t really matter how hard you work throughout the year, when it comes to the harvest, the weather always has the final say. ☀️

Given the season, we’re pleased with what we have, and we’re very hopeful that it’s enough to get us through the year. For that, we are extremely grateful.

We’re now starting to look ahead to next season’s cropping - and we’ll certainly be keeping you all updated!

We’re thrilled to say that Callum will be back at the Truro Farmers Market tomorrow, and he’s really looking forward to seeing you all. It’s certainly been a while! He’ll have all your favourite pork, sausages and bacon ready for you!

We had our own version of ‘Yesterday’s Farming’ here on Tuesday night when our friend Paul brought his beautiful classic tractors and balers around to have a go at making some small bales! ☀️

For all of you vintage tractor boffins - Paul, Nick and Charlie are driving….

MF 185 with a Massey 128 baler
MF 165 with a Massey 124 baler
MF 178 with a (new) 1840 baler

….and they had the most wonderful evening!

Harvest is very nearly finished now. All the combining has been completed, and we’re now just mopping up the last of the straw whilst dodging the showers. 🌦️

And after the summer we’ve had, how ironic’s that!! 🤣🤣

Did everyone enjoy the eclipse yesterday? ☀️

Wasn’t it wonderful! 🤩

We marked the occasion with a delicious pork and bacon chilli, with all the trimmings, and sat out to enjoy the phenomenal spectacle - with the help of our trusty welding masks which worked an absolute treat! 😉

And as if that wasn’t enough fun for one night - once it got dark, we lay outside and had a fabulous time spotting the most magnificent shooting stars. An eclipse and Perseid meteor shower all in one night!!! 💫

How lucky are we all to live on this beautiful planet….🌍

Harvest update!!!! ☀️

It’s been a busy few weeks (although they all are 🤣) and even Rosie’s had a go on the combine seat!!

Anyone who follows the farming news will know that the hot weather and lack of any significant rain for such a long period has played havoc with the harvest across the country and here, we are no exception.

Our yields are down by approximately 20%, and the quality of the crops are below our usual average because the lack of rain has not enabled them to finish ripening properly.

On a plus note, we’re pleased with the quality of the straw - which is very good, as we are relying on it to keep the pigs warm and cosy throughout the coming winter. 🐖

We’re now harvesting our peas and beans. We’re not expecting any miracles, but at least we won’t have to spend any money drying them!

Thankfully, apart from buying some seed, we have spent zero money on the inputs that many other farmers will have done. We are thankful that this will make the difference for us between profit and loss.

Thank you so much for all your incredible support. You really do keep the wheels turning, and we couldn’t do it without you. 🥰
