Sometimes I do wonder if I’m pricing our veg reasonably, no I don’t lay awake at night worrying, but I know I don’t want to “ do you over “.
So I compared prices of runner beans from our main stores per kilogram….
Tesco £8.06
Waitrose £8.70
Sainsbury’s £6.20
M&S £7.80
M&S via Ocado £10.09!
Asda £6.80
Yes I realise they need to pay fuel for moving the product, pay people to handle it…….
So my beans are grown in the paddock above your heads when at my stall, zero miles and minimal fuel ( the odd occasion hubby uses the tractor to clear the stall ).
No sprays
Natural fertiliser ( fish, blood and bone, chicken manure, horse manure and our own compost).
So I think £3 a kilogram is an excellent price. What say you?
