Helpful 🙄 Take away the main post office yet not allow local post offices to provide all the services.
Now what? We can't even get any assistance from them to be able to do more at our post office, they just don't care! 😡
The only Main Post Offices left in Cornwall are:
Bodmin
St Austell
Newquay
Cambourne

We are aware of how many residents are concerned about the closure of Truro Post Office, which is currently based inside TG Jones on Pydar Street.
Once the closure was announced, Truro City Council has been working with Jayne Kirkham MP, Truro BID and Cornwall Council to help find a replacement. We have seen the questions, comments and suggestions being raised and want to explain what the Post Office has told us so far:
𝐌𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞: The Post Office has advised that the number of parcels handled at the Truro branch and the space needed to store them are concerns when considering a mobile service, and therefore this is unlikely to be an option for Truro.
𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐫𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲: Some residents have suggested moving the Post Office into the library. Truro City Council have raised this option with the Post Office as a temporary measure, but the Post Office has told us that the expressions of interest process for a replacement service has closed and that the location of the Post Office is only part of the issue, as it needs an operator to manage it. No temporary move to the library will therefore be possible.
As a private business, the Post Office makes the decisions about its services.
However, there is great public interest in this matter, and Truro City Council has a role in putting forward Truro’s needs and helping to find a solution. That is what we are doing.
The Post Office is now considering the expressions of interest it has received, and we will continue to engage with them to ensure that a replacement facility is in place as soon as possible.
We do understand how important this service is to residents and businesses. We will keep you updated as we have more information to share.
