Another few days down at the building site and a load more progress.

First of all, our Crowdfunder has just crossed £3000! Thats amazing and we are so stoked with the community wanting to be part of this.

Your investment allows us to side step the system and not go to the banks while giving you exclusive experiences such as- Private workshops for you a your friends, coffee for a year and tickets to our first feast night. Head to the link in our bio to check out all of the prizes.

This investment has sent me ( ) all the way to Exeter through hail and snow to pick up some beautiful stainless benches and an almost new oven!

Over the coming weeks we will be talking you through our vison for the space but already we have folks turning up at our door with amazing ideas and suggestions.

People Not Paper.

This is your helpful reminder that if you want to be a small or big part of what we do then come to our new space tomorrow night at 6:30pm.

We will take you through what it means to be part of Canteen. What we believe in and why it is so important to always remember what you had for tea last night.

US AGAIN.
We have a little (very big) project underway that we need a little help with.

We put our heads together to come up with a plan of how to fill this space and talk about what our cafe needs…
Turns out, a lot.
Chairs, tables, ovens, paint, people to work there - just to name a few.

Alongside meetings with people in creased grey suits and a strange afternoon spent in a side room in Redruth promising a man we are who we say we are. We thought about how you guys could support our dream of opening another community focused cafe.

Think Robin Hood - but more, you give us something and we give you something back.

We have filled our JustGiving with all sorts of bits and bobs.
You will all play such a massive part of our next step by investing in us.
Big or Small we don’t mind :)

People not Paper.

Want to work with us but not all the time?!
Come to our open evening on Friday 23rd at our new space in Mount Hawke ( )
Arrive for 6:30pm and with an open mind.

We will let you know what Canteen is all about, answer questions and get us all excited about the season ahead, either on the road or in our spaces.

Roles and experience of all levels and varieties, part time employed and freelance.
You are all welcome.

This evening is really an opportunity for us to find like minded people who want to work for something that is more then a just a job.

We are getting dates in the bloody diary!
The team are knuckling down and getting ready for this years residency at . With a couple of names already well and truly in the pipeline, we are so excited to get going again.

BUT..we have room for a couple more colabs (this is where you come in) Who would you like us to work with? Or, are you a chef or part of a restaurant team that fancy’s getting stuck in alongside us?

Recruiting!

Lead Chefs-

We are looking for a couple of senior chefs to help us grow our business.

The role:

Leading our kitchens here in Cornwall and on the road for our events. You will be responsible for the efficient running of operations BOH and work with our leadership team FOH to create a seamless, stress free (where possible) environment while executing world class food cooked with fire.
An expectation will be for you to work 45 hours a week including weekends and eveings but not all of them.
We will reimburse you with a year round salary or hourly wage, whichever works best for you. This will be based on your experience.

These roles will only be filled with like minded individuals of any age, who share in our values and demonstrate them with their mindset and behaviours.

So no shouty shouty chefs thanks.

It’s the worst kept secret that we are opening up a second space in Mount Hawke!
All being well - we will be open for Easter.

This means the Canteen team is looking to expand. Looking for all roles, including experienced chefs and baristas. You can have all the experience in the world, or this can be you first time working in hospitality. We are just looking for kind, emotionally intelligent, hard workers.

We also always on the look out for people to top up our events team, so if you fancy a summer on the road - get in touch.

Our first year at .cornwall has been a blast! Our final service of the year will be Christmas Collective next Friday 22nd. And we’re going to be celebrating an amazing 2023!

We will then be closed from the 23rd and letting our team spend time with their families until the 6th Jan.

We are going to make the final feast night of the year a big one. So get excited and get involved!
