Besowsa Farm

Barn owls have been busy at Besowsa 😊

Look at these cuties 😍

North Cornwall Bird Ringing Group came out today to weigh, record & ring these 5 barn owl chick's. They also came over to Quints farm and recorded 4 more chicks.

We are very lucky to see the parents in the evenings busy catching small mammals to feed their babies.

We have plans to put a camera in the box and live feed into the shop so you can watch them whilst enjoying your coffee & cake! May have missed the best action for this year but very excited for next year's hatch 🦉

We are opening a farm shop and cafe 🥳

Follow our new page to keep up to date with progress, the ups and the downs of starting a new business whilst still farming 😅

This page will carry on with the farming content but there will definitely be cute animals on the new page as well 😊

Tough but rewarding part of the job when you know the quality of the beef you produce is some of the best in the 🌎

Does anyone else pelvis score their heifers when deciding which ones to keep for breeding?

This is our second year doing it so early days. The ones we scored last year are only now calving but so far all have done it on their own.

1 of then didn't have a great score but we made the decision to keep her as she was a pet from a favourite old cow who made it to nearly 14 so can't be to bad. It helped us choose a more appropriate bull for her. She had a tiny little saler heifer which Stewart rolls his eyes at but were delighted!

Emma thanks for all your advice 😊
