CHAOS Farm

CHAOS Farm Nothing brings learning about food farming and the countryside to life more than seeing it. Proud to be the host the CHAOS Farm Project.

Down on the Roseland you'll find CHAOS Farm - historically named Camills farm, but now the heart and home of The CHAOS Group. We believe nothing brings learning about food farming and the countryside to life more than seeing it up close. We've opened our gates, unlocking the potential of outdoor learning, connecting with nature and influencing lives and lifestyle changes.

This film was part of our participation within Joining the Dots project and showcases how agroecological growing, (such as ours, Soulfarm Bosavern Community Farm and mamy more), protect the landscape, provides habitat for nature and biodiversity, and supports local communities.

We're always excited when wildlife visit our market garden and we were especially happy to find this grass snake taking up residence in one of our polytunnels.

We've been making some improvements to some of the streams and ditches around the farm, which has led to an increase in tadpole and frog activity.
The grass snake feeds almost exclusively on amphibians and making improvements to these waterways will probably lead to more sightings like this int he future, which we're super happy about!

We believe caring for the land is a long-term commitment; one that nurtures both nature and community.

Through sustainable land practices, local sourcing, and nature-based solutions like tree planting and soil restoration, we’re working to reduce our carbon footprint and help ecosystems thrive 🌱

Nothing goes to waste,-we champion circular approaches, from composting to repurposing surplus food, ensuring resources are valued and shared ♻️

Guided by our B Corp commitment, we hold ourselves accountable—measuring our impact to create lasting, positive change for people and the planet 💚🌍

Join us in supporting nature-friendly farming and building a more sustainable future.

We believe in the power of nature to heal, connect and inspire.

Through woodland, land-based and food-growing activities, we support people to rebuild confidence, develop skills and find a renewed sense of purpose 🌱

By bringing people closer to the land and our food systems, we’re nurturing stronger communities and more resilient, thriving landscapes 💚

Alongside The CHAOS Group, We tackle food insecurity by redistributing surplus food with partners, reducing waste while improving access to nutritious meals.

In line with our B Corp commitments, we work with grassroots organisations across Cornwall to build resilient, local food systems that connect surplus with community need and deliver lasting social and environmental impact.

At CHAOS Farm, we’re mindful of our impact, from soil to ecosystems, and give back through regenerative practices like hedgerow planting, woodland creation, and sustainable land management. 🌳

We aim to restore the balance between farming and nature while boosting biodiversity and climate resilience across Cornwall. 🚜

Guided by our B Corp values, we prioritise responsible stewardship, reduce our environmental footprint, and create lasting social impact for both landscapes and communities. 🌱

Did you know that this week is Nature Friendly Farming Week?

It is an annual celebration of farmers who want to restore the balance between farming and nature, building resilience by enhancing soils, planting hedgerows and reducing climate pressures.

This week we will be sharing a few ways in which we do that, watch this space!

It's World Therapeutic Horticulture Day today!

It's a day dedicated to highlighting the numerous therapeutic benefits of horticulture and gardening and one we enjoy celebrating at CHAOS, particularly the work we do at our CHAOS Eden site.

We've all heard how gardening can be good for us, but well planned horticultural therapy sessions have been shown to be an effective therapy to improve physical, mental and social health, including anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. It can also help improve socialisation skills, reduce stress and anxiety, and increase self-esteem.

Our team at Eden provides a supportive and caring environment for work-based learning, for adults with physical and emotional impairments, alongside neurodiversity, so horticulture therapy plays a pivotal role in the daily sessions we provide here.

Volunteering at CHAOS strengthens communities, enhances personal well-being, and fosters a sense of purpose and connection.

Here's some of our wonderful Wednesday group taking some time to breathe in the incredible landscape on offer at the farm.

Since offering a volunteer programme at farm we've really noticed how it strengthens social cohesion by promoting values such as solidarity, reciprocity, mutual trust, and empowerment.

Our first crops of Spring are almost here!

Lettuce and Spinach always do well after a February sowing and are best around about now before the summer heat kicks in and makes them bolt and become bitter.
