What a few months it’s been, I know I’ve been super inactive on here but wanted to take a moment to discuss the reality of owning a solo small business… oh my god it’s hard work haha! I think it really goes unspoken about the difficulties with starting up a business. There are so many highs, great achievements and milestones which are all showcased on social media, but rarely the lows. This could be anything from a dip in motivation, lack of ideas, negative comments or general “I can’t do this” mentality. I don’t want to come across like I have got all my *s**t* together, because honestly I’m winging it completely with a lot of support from friends and family.
I want this page to be a safe space, a place I can show my highs AND my lows with starting a business because honestly it’s so important, especially if you yourself are thinking of starting a business. A lot of the time I wish I started a business that wasn’t related to food 😂 but at the same time, baking has always been something I’ve been passionate about and truthfully I don’t regret it, it just means i have to work a little harder😌
I have realised within the last year that Half Baked is so much better suited to winter time, which is why I tend to be quieter in the summer months and then spring into Christmas (just like Michael Bublé😂)
So really it’s just a fresh Hello again👋🏼 I will try to do better on social media and being a bit more active, but I am still here nether the less 😊
