What a lovely day we had at the Crowborough Bonfire & Carnival Society Summer fete

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support Smiles. We had a fantastic time running our tombola, bric-a-brac stall and popular doggy lucky dip! 🐶

It was wonderful meeting so many people, chatting about the farm, sharing what we do, and raising much-needed funds to help us continue supporting our community and caring for our rescue animals.

A big thank you to our amazing volunteers who gave up their time to help make the day such a success – we couldn’t do it without you! ❤️

🎙️ DONKEYGATE STRIKES AGAIN! 🫏😂

Well, it seems our three mischievous donkeys have become local celebrities!

Following their great escape and subsequent police es**rt home, we’ve now completed our SECOND radio interview in two days about “Donkeygate” and the adventures of Gus, Sid and Jack. 🫣🚔

Who knew a simple donkey escape would cause such a stir and have volunteers, locals and even the police helping track down our wandering trio!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring our boys safely home. We’re not quite sure what they’ll get up to next, but we’re keeping a close eye on them… and checking the fences ALOT! 🤣

🚨🚔 THE GREAT DONKEY ESCAPE OF 2026! 🚔🚨

Well… today didn’t quite go to plan! 🤦‍♀️

All THREE of our donkeys decided that life at Smiles was far too predictable and staged a coordinated breakout from the farm. 🫏🫏🫏

What followed was a full-scale donkey hunt around Eridge, with our incredible volunteers and local residents heading off in all directions trying to track down our runaway trio. There were sightings, near misses, false alarms, and enough messages flying around to rival a police operation!

Thankfully, our adventurous donkeys were eventually rounded up and Sid was given the ultimate walk of shame back home… es**rted by the POLICE, yes the Police!

Meanwhile, the boys seemed to think the whole thing was a wonderful day out and showed absolutely no concern for the panic they had caused or the miles our volunteers had clocked up trying to find them!

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers, local residents and the police for helping get our escape artists safely back to the farm.❤️

The donkeys are now safely back, plotting their next adventure no doubt, while the volunteers are putting their feet up with a well-earned cup of tea! 🤦🏼‍♀️

🦆 Friday Duck Update! 🦆

It's been an exciting day at Smiles, as we've welcomed two brand-new ducklings into the world today! 🐣💛

After lots of patient waiting, peeping, and egg-watching, our latest fluffy arrivals finally made their appearance and are already stealing hearts. They're currently resting up in the warmth while they dry off and find their feet.

The other ducklings are growing fast, getting braver by the day, and enjoying plenty of cuddles and attention. We never get tired of watching their little personalities emerge!

Who else thinks there's nothing cuter than a freshly hatched duckling? 🥰

🐥💕 Duckling Cuddle Time at Smiles! 💕🐥

After spending their first days safely tucked up in the incubator, our gorgeous little ducklings have now graduated to the very important job of receiving human cuddles! 🥰

There is something truly magical about holding a tiny, fluffy duckling as they snuggle into your hands, contentedly peeping away. 💛

These precious moments help our ducklings get used to gentle human interaction while providing plenty of smiles (and happy squeals!) for everyone lucky enough to meet them. 🦆✨
