Asparagus growers and retailers in Groombridge, near Tunbridge Wells. Seasonal farm shop April - June

14/06/2026

With the farm shop now closed for 2026, and finally some moisture in the ground, it has given us the opportunity to crack on planting some more asparagus in Groombridge.

01/06/2026

It seems strange writing this post on the 1st June, but this week is your last week to enjoy our asparagus in 2026. The extreme heat of last weekend sapped the little remaining energy our drought stressed crop had left in it (we have only had 50mm of rain since 14th Feb!!)

It’s a shame, but we are planting more asparagus this year, including more late varieties, so hopefully we don’t find ourselves in this situation again.

Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible this week in the farm shop.

2026 season let’s go! The farm shop is now open, find us at Birchden Farm (TN3 9NR), open 9-6 Mon-Sat and 9-4 Sundays. Selling our freshly cut asparagus, homemade jams & pestos, and other local seasonal produce.

The season is almost with us! Expecting to start in a couple of weeks time, probably after Easter, but will keep you all updated on here with an exact date. We are still in the yard at Birchden Farm, beside the exciting building project of Birchden Vineyards, selling all our usual goodies!
