Just a cow, doing his thing on some nice fresh grass. When we took on the croft the land hadn't been worked in a generation & with last year's drought Steve was very worried he'd do more harm than good. Seems like he didn't need to worry.

Here on the croft that means the cattle are back to rotational grazing.

From now till November we will move them everyday. That means fresh ground, different plants to munch on and new environments to explore.

Folk often talk about farming in line with nature. But how do you do that in one of the most nature depleted countries in the world?

Our answer is add more nature! With help from The Woodland Trust we have just finished hand planting 1,300 native trees and hedges to help bring some nature back to the croft.

(Don't worry about the w**d mat, we'll take it away once the hedge gets going)
