Just found out our Wildflower Honey has won a Great Taste Award

Here’s what the judges said..

An appealing golden colour with some pollen suspension in the raw honey and a runny consistency. The aroma is rich and evocative, full of late Summer sunshine, and in the mouth those flavours shine through in a classically heathland way. This is a gentle rambling and complex flavour profile, not too sweet and very subtle in its delivery. It soothes itself onto the palate rather than hits it. The finish is good, if a little short, but retains the essence of what it is most successfully.

Pale golden honey with excellent viscosity and a fabulous floral aroma. A smooth mouthfeel release a vibrant flavour which is singing of sweet flowers. This is a delicious honey with the natural sweet floral flavour shining through.

A lovely bright, clear golden, runny honey, with fresh farmyards aromas. The flavour profile was savoury and complex with herbaceous notes but not much in the way of citrus zing. A very authentic tasting product with a distinctive sense of place.

Ingredients:
A shot of two of chilled espresso
Old Plaw Hatch Farm raw milk
Ashdown Forest honey to drizzle

A spoon of ice cream (optional if you’re feeling decadent)

Very excited to be delivering the first jars of Ashdown Forest Spring Harvest honey to Old Plaw Hatch Farm this morning

Our bees have been busy collecting nectar from blossom and wildflowers across Ashdown Forest to produce this small-batch raw honey.

This year's spring harvest has bright citrus and elderflower notes with a delicate hint of caramel.

Spring honey is one of the real seasonal highlights of the beekeeping year, so enjoy it while it lasts.
