We need your help to build something amazing together!

We’re so excited to share a very special project happening at Broadway First School.

We’ve created space for a brand-new sensory room to support our wonderful pupils with SEND—a calm, safe space where children can relax, regulate, and thrive. Now we need your help to bring it to life with the specialist equipment it deserves!

We have a Sponsored Cycle Ride – Tuesday 23rd June
Our very own Mr Poultney and Ms Fielder will be cycling a combined 40 miles around Broadway and beyond! 👏

Our children will be out cheering them on, making it a fantastic community moment full of encouragement and school spirit.

💛 How you can help:
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it will make a huge difference. Every pound brings us closer to creating a space that will support our children’s wellbeing and learning every single day.
Let’s come together and make this happen!

Thank you so much for your support 💙

This week in Class 3, we have been learning about the life cycles of different mammals, including monotremes and marsupials. We categorised them accordingly and discovered some interesting facts.
In English, we completed our “hot write” on Sir Isaac Newton and confidently read our work aloud to the class. They were fabulous!
We have also been studying the European Union and exploring trade between countries.
We have had a lovely week!

🌟 What a Wonderful Week at Broadway First School! 🌟
We’ve had such an exciting and enriching week across our school, with every class busy exploring, discovering, and getting creative!
🌳 Class 1 had a fantastic time in Forest School, where they enjoyed making bubbles and exploring the great outdoors. They also went pond dipping, discovering the fascinating creatures that live in our local environment — a brilliant hands-on learning experience! In PE, we’ve been full of energy as we practise for Sports Day. The children have been racing cheering each other on, and getting ready to shine on the big day!
🔬 Class 2 became scientists this week! In Science, they carried out an exciting investigation to learn about fair testing, carefully exploring how to make their experiments reliable and discussing their results like true researchers.
🐛 Class 3 have been learning all about life cycles, developing their understanding of how living things grow and change. The children have shown great curiosity and enthusiasm for this topic.
📚 Class 4 have begun focusing on a new English text, diving into their learning with thoughtful discussions and building their skills in reading, writing, and comprehension.
🐄 Nursery children have shown a real interest in farm animals, enjoying activities that helped them learn more about the animals and their sounds, homes, and care.
🎨 Pre-school got wonderfully creative this week, designing their own unique sea creatures using lolly sticks, pom-poms, and feathers. Their imaginative creations were full of colour and personality!
It has been a week full of curiosity, creativity, and fun. Well done to all our amazing children — we are so proud of everything you have achieved! 💙

Ruby Class had an amazing time welcoming our parents and carers to our Inspire Workshop! There were lots of smiles as we got busy making bubble wands in Forest School, splashing about with pond dipping, and enjoying some fantastic team games. It was so lovely to see everyone joining in and having fun together!
In Reception, we’ve been shape superstars! ⭐ The children have been exploring how to manipulate and decompose shapes, rotating them to fit into tricky spaces using stars, squares and tangrams — lots of problem-solving and “aha!” moments!
Our Land Ahoy topic has really captured our imaginations. We worked together to create and label a whole-class poster, sharing our ideas about living and non-living things we might find on a desert island and in the ocean. There were some brilliant suggestions! 🏝️🌊
In PE, we’ve been full of energy as we practise for Sports Day. The children have been racing, cheering each other on, and getting ready to shine on the big day! 🏃‍♂️🎉

What an exciting week in school!

Our TTRS event brought so much energy, with children dressing up and showing off their amazing maths skills. We’ve also added brand‑new monkey trapeze bars to the playground as part of our OPAL improvements — they’re already a huge hit. Class 1 had a trip to Broadway park and to the Fire Station today!
Thank‑you to all the parents who joined us for our Inspire workshops too this week!
It’s been a week full of creativity, teamwork and joyful learning.

A huge THANK YOU to the Friends of Broadway First School, and especially to Emma Manktelow, for helping bring Mrs Organ’s vision to life.
Keep an eye out for our KS2 children wearing them at sporting events—what a wonderful way to showcase their inspiration!

This week in nursery, we have had a jam-packed week learning about lots of important things.

To start the week, it was Mental Health Awareness Day. We read stories that focused on being kind to our friends and used the Colour Monsters to talk about our feelings and emotions.
Next, we celebrated National Nurses Day. We spoke to the children about the important role nurses have in helping people and set up a doctor and hospital role-play area so the children could enjoy pretending to be nurses and medical staff.

We finished the week by celebrating National Family Day. The children each shared something they love about their families, leading to lots of lovely conversations and smiles.

We also got to welcome our new apprentice Sophie, who is settling in very well.

What a fantastic and busy week Preschool has had!🌟
In Forest School🌳, we showed amazing perseverance and resilience as we learned to make a spark with a flint and steel - and some of us even succeeded!
In Maths, we have been exploring shapes and positions, completing fun puzzles and learning the names of different 2D shapes. We’re becoming shape experts!🟠
During Story Dough 🐛🦋, we enjoyed the story The Hungry Caterpillar, where we talked about the life cycle of a caterpillar. Then we got super creative designing our own beautiful butterflies — they were fantastic!🎨
Well done everyone, have a lovely weekend!😊
