I am a local Derbyshire bird, who along with her family and friends likes to spread her wings and get her beak sticky sampling food, wine and beer in local restaurants and venues. Hopefully having good times and discovering hidden treasures in our glorious neighbourhood along the way. I'm not particularly snobby about fancy food or surroundings; I just like a place to be clean, friendly, have atmosphere and be able to do a decent job of cooking the food that is their trade.

A little midweek curry therapy at Rikshawaz 😍

We started with Garlic & Chilli Squid and the wonderfully creamy Murgh Malai Chicken, both packed with flavour and beautifully presented. For mains, a rich and deeply satisfying Old Delhi Style Keema Bhuna was paired with a flaky Kerala Paratha, whilst the Lamb Biryani arrived fragrant with spices and served alongside cooling raita.

With a menu that blends modern Indian small plates and regional specialities, there’s plenty here to tempt both adventurous diners and lovers of traditional favourites.

Every Thursday, diners can enjoy a rodizio-style feast with a selection of freshly cooked meats served directly to the table, alongside a generous range of salads and sides.

Have you discovered this canalside Indian restaurant in Findern yet? 🍽️

Set beside the Trent & Mersey Canal, Lagan Indian Tapas combines a contemporary setting with a menu inspired by Indian street food, tapas-style sharing plates and regional curries.

During our visit we enjoyed everything from Papdi Chaat, Chicken Tacos and Fish Amritsari through to Murgh Mewar and Malabar King Prawns – all packed with flavour and beautifully presented.

The spacious waterside terrace is a real bonus for summer dining, and the stylish interior makes it just as appealing when the weather isn't playing ball.

A breakfast catch-up at Eat @ Denbys this morning and there was plenty to enjoy. 🍳☕

The Full English was loaded with quality ingredients, the All Day Breakfast Stack was gloriously messy in all the right ways, and the Avo on Toast with smoked salmon, cream cheese and pomegranate looked as good as it tasted.

Add in a proper pot of tea and it’s easy to see why this Denby favourite remains so popular.

Honey & soy chicken skewers, harissa honey chorizo, Korean calamari, three bean chilli tacos, Caprese flatbreads and seasoned fries were all making their way to our table as we checked out Belong Bar’s Bottomless Brunch.

At £34.95 per person, the 90-minute experience combines unlimited drinks with a selection of small plates and flatbreads, giving you the chance to mix and match a variety of dishes rather than being tied to a single meal.
