The next batch of seedlings are coming on well!

We generally sow a batch of seeds every fortnight - often lettuce, spring onions, and chard or spinach, depending on the time of the year. Here we also have a batch of leeks and basil starting too!

The last picture shows a previous sowing of basil growing well and we will be harvesting some very soon!

We are open from 9:30 -18:00, Monday to Saturday. Currently have tayberries, lettuce, chard, new potatoes and some gooseberries in stock!

Tayberries!!

We are now picking absolutely delicious tayberries!! And if we get the sun we are forecast then we should have absolutely tons!!

(For those of you that don’t know a tayberry is an incredible cross between a raspberry and a blackberry)

Pop down to Niton Undercliff to get some now! We are open Monday to Saturday 9:30 to 5:00.

Thanks very much to Island Roasted Coffee for supplying so much coffee chaff!

The first picture shows a bed prior to weeding. The rest of the photos show the rest of the process; weeding and hoeing, clearing the weeds, spreading the coffee chaff, and netting if necessary. The final picture (Thanks to Boaz) is a photograph taken from a drone, showing sixteen of our veg growing beds covered in chaff!

We use coffee chaff because it adds nitrogen to the soil, supresses weeds, and the slugs and snails do not like it!

Lots of hard work clearing our green manure cover crop of phacelia and crimson clover and putting the cuttings around the summer raspberries. Well done lads!
