Mousehall was first recorded in the Doomsday book in 1086 and since then has been a working farm with a prosperous history. In September 2017, Gary and Kathy Jordan owners of Jordan Wine Estate in South Africa discovered the negl
ected and over-grown property. With a background in Viticulture and the love of a challenge, Mousehall Country Estate was brought back to life. Mousehall is a family-run business, together Gary, Kathy and Christy Jordan have been cultivating the land, planting and sourcing botanicals, producing and launching their first products. In 2021 the Jordan’s converted an abandoned barn into what is now Mousehall Distillery & Winery. Mousehall is not only home to the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier vineyard, and various gin botanicals, but to 18 Dorper sheep, 8 beehives, Runner & Mallard Ducks and Cody, Charlie and Marmalade, the Mousehall pets. Mousehall offers Distillery Tours & Tastings, Private Events and Functions, Luxury Accommodation in the Oast house and if you’re looking to stretch your legs, there is a foot path that takes you straight past the Distillery & Winery so you can explore the beautiful medieval Sussex countryside.
