Something exciting is growing at Horncastle Farm…
This September, we’re launching Farm Club: Learning Through Play —a completely different kind of learning experience where the farm, woodland, classroom and kitchen become places to explore, investigate, create and discover.
Starting week commencing 14 September, our first six-week pilot will bring learning to life through real farm experiences, practical projects and plenty of outdoor adventure every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
🐛 Home Ed Farm Club: Bugs, Beasts & Habitats | Ages 5–10
A six-week, qualified teacher-led project exploring the fascinating creatures living around our farm. Children will hunt for bugs, investigate different habitats, explore ecosystems, count and classify their discoveries and help create bug-friendly spaces—all while developing science, maths, English and teamwork skills without feeling as though they are sitting in a classroom.
🌳 Little Farmers Stay & Play
Relaxed, parent-accompanied sessions filled with woodland play, den building, bug hunting, imaginative adventures and opportunities to explore life on the farm. Children can follow their curiosity, get creative, make friends and—of course—get a little muddy!
🍰 Farm Kitchen | Ages 11–16
A practical course where baking becomes the starting point for creativity, learning and enterprise. Young people will develop ideas, explore recipes, use maths and English in a meaningful way, work alongside our bakery team and discover what it takes to turn a new creation into something that could be served in our farm café.
🌾 Farm Club 11+
A more grown-up farm and woodland experience created especially for older children. Expect practical challenges, outdoor skills, farm-based investigations, problem-solving, teamwork and hands-on projects that build confidence and independence—far removed from worksheets and traditional lessons.
Every session will make use of the incredible environment around us—from the woodland and wildlife to the animals, bakery, kitchen and working farm.
