On the 19th of May Milestone House, London road, Deal, Kent will be hosting a coffee morning to raise money and awareness for Huntingtons Disease. It will be held between 10am -12pm, if anyone would be willing enough to donate raffle prizes it would be much appreciated.

This is a subject very close to my heart. I've been working at milestone house now for just over 2 years after moving to deal. My first ever job in the care industry 12 years ago was working with adults with Huntington's disease. I've seen every stage of it and watched so many lovely people loose the battle.

Huntington disease is a progressive brain disorder that causes uncontrolled movements, emotional problems, and loss of thinking ability (cognition). Adult-onset Huntington disease, the most common form of this disorder, usually appears in a person's thirties or forties. There is no cure at this moment in time.

We are trying to raise awareness and help in any way we can to find a cure for this awful disease.
