A little update from us…
We’ve had a few minor delays over the last couple of weeks, but things are continuing to move in the right direction and we’re still hopeful that we’ll be back producing before Christmas — fingers crossed!
There’s still work to be done and, as we’ve learnt throughout this whole process, unexpected things can crop up along the way, so we don’t want to give you a definite date just yet. As soon as we’re confident enough to do that, you’ll all be the first to know.
The new cooking unit is really starting to come together now and it’s looking fantastic inside. After everything that’s happened, seeing it gradually turn into a working factory is a brilliant feeling. We honestly can’t wait to share more of it with you and, most importantly, get back to doing what we do best!
We also wanted to give you a little preview of something that means a lot to us — our new factory signs.
Remarkably, the original G. Simmons & Sons sign survived the fire virtually unscathed. We’ve kept it safe and, in time, we’re hoping to find somewhere special for it so that it can remain part of the business and its history.
For the new signs, we wanted to keep the traditional Simmons look but include something particularly special — Graham’s signature.
Graham was there when we opened the factory back in 1994. Sadly, he won’t be here in person to see us reopen this time, but there was never any doubt that he would still be a part of it.
His signature will now proudly sit alongside the Simmons name on our new factory signs — a little nod to Graham and a reminder that he’ll always be part of everything we do.
We think he’d be very proud to see us getting back on our feet and preparing to open those doors again.
Thank you, as always, for all the messages, support and encouragement. It genuinely means the world to us and has helped keep us going through what has been an incredibly challenging year.
We’re getting there, and we can’t wait to welcome the next chapter of G. Simmons & Sons.
