Remedial works and water hygiene services are often grouped together, but they play distinct roles in effective water system management.

Think of it like servicing your car. Regular servicing helps identify and prevent issues before they become costly, while repairs are needed when a fault is found.

Water hygiene services provide the routine monitoring, inspections and maintenance needed to identify risks early and support ongoing compliance. Remedial works are the corrective actions taken when issues are identified, helping to restore system integrity and compliance.

Together, they form the foundation of a robust water safety strategy, reducing risk, minimising disruption and keeping your water system operating safely.

In a care home environment, resident safety is the absolute priority, and that includes the critical water systems operating behind the scenes.

Due to complex plumbing networks, infrequently used outlets, and the heightened vulnerability of residents, care homes face an elevated risk of Legionella proliferation. Mitigating this risk requires strict compliance, including regular risk assessments, consistent temperature monitoring, and robust flushing regimes.

As your trusted water hygiene partner, H2O Hygiene are here to help you safeguard your premises and maintain full regulatory compliance. If you’re responsible for water safety in a care home and would like support, get in touch with our team.

Celebrating 5 Years of Service!🎉

Jordan started with H2O Hygiene in August 2021 as an Administration Assistant within the operations team. In 2022, Jordan moved into the role of Operations Administrator, and by 2024 he was the company’s Schedule Co-ordinator, responsible for planning and scheduling the Hygiene engineers' monthly work, a task that is not undertaken lightly.

Never one to be bound to the office, Jordan was keen to learn the art of engineering, so he volunteered to job shadow team members to expand his practical knowledge. Seeing that his talents lay beyond scheduling, he moved into the role of Pod Leader within the Administration team in 2025, where he brought his extensive knowledge of schedules and the timing of engineering tasks to the department.

A quiet but invaluable member of the team, Jordan is embedded within H2O, and we wish him congratulations on his 5 year long service award, and we look forward to his next 5!👏

Celebrating 5 Years of Service!🎉

Emma joined H2O Hygiene in August 2021, initially starting as a very green Administration Assistant who knew nothing about the water sector. Progressing through the Administration department, she learnt the business as a Pod Leader, showing an ambition and thirst for knowledge that could not be tamed.

When the Enterprise Scheme was announced to develop internal H2O employees, she jumped at the chance to become our first Account Manager Support in 2023. Using the extensive knowledge she had gained, Emma applied it to the Account Manager team, and her enthusiasm immediately shone through. Eager for advancement, she moved into the role of Trainee Account Manager in 2024 and gained her first portfolio of clients. By 2025, Emma had progressed to a full Account Manager, being responsible for large, multi-site, intensive contracts, with her determination and ambition yet to be fulfilled. We are very excited to be on Emma’s career journey, and can’t wait to see what the future holds for this talented lady.

Congratulations Emma on your 5 year long service. Your loyalty and dedication to H2O is something that we are very proud of and has not gone unnoticed, bring on the next 5 we say!👏

A Legionella Risk Assessment shouldn’t be treated as a one-off document.

If your building has undergone refurbishment works, changes in occupancy, outlet changes or wider water system alterations, your assessment may no longer reflect the current level of risk.

In this post, we’re highlighting 5 common signs that it may be time for a review.

Think it might be time to revisit yours? Get in touch with us today: https://h2ohygiene.co.uk/contact/?utm_source=linkedin&utm_medium=organic

Meet Miley, the eldest daughter of H2O Hygiene’s Head of Operations, Wayne Morgans, and Account Manager, Chloe Morgans.

Having just completed Year 2, Miley took her end-of-year summary board into school on her last day, and when asked what she wants to be when she grows up:

“A H2O worker.”

We’re not sure what role she has her eye on just yet, but it looks like we might have a future H2O team member in the making!

Water temperature monitoring is an important control measure when it comes to Legionella management. When water sits between 20°C and 45°C, it can create the ideal conditions for Legionella bacteria to grow.

Keeping hot and cold water within the correct temperature ranges helps reduce risk, maintain compliance and highlight wider system issues before they become bigger problems.

If you’re reviewing your water hygiene programme and need support with temperature monitoring, Legionella Risk Assessments or remedial works, get in touch with our team today: https://h2ohygiene.co.uk/contact/?utm_source=linkedin&utm_medium=organic

Legionella misconceptions can lead to risks being overlooked and control measures being delayed.

From the belief that only older buildings are affected to the assumption that no reported illness means there is no risk, these common myths can result in organisations underestimating their responsibilities.

The reality is that Legionella can develop in a variety of water systems, often without any obvious warning signs. That's why a suitable and sufficient Legionella Risk Assessment remains the foundation of effective Legionella control, regardless of the size, age or type of property.

Understanding the facts helps facility managers make informed decisions, maintain compliance and protect building users.

If you're unsure whether your current control measures are adequate, our team can help.
