Marta Vine is 16 years old today!

It's been a wild and fun ride with many obstacles being thrown in our way! We have managed to overcome them and grow every year!

We are very proud of our accomplishments. In the Top 20 list of Wine Importers in the Wine Merchant Magazine every year, listed in Harpers Top 50 suppliers to the trade on a regular basis and flying the flag for Portugal and global organic wines in a very competitive UK market.

We have great suppliers who support us with patience, time and support.

We have a great team that has strengthened this year with the addition of Jess who has added another level of organisation and professionalism.

But most importantly, we have great customers who continue to back the small specialists and reciprocate the hard work we put in with your belief and support.

Thanks to everyone and lets raise a glass this evening to the little guy!

Once again Marta Vine has been voted in the top 20 for suppliers to the independent trade in The Wine Merchant magazine.

Amazing news for little us. We didn't do any canvassing, no bribery was required and this year we didn't make any physical threats for votes....this is just you voting for us and for that we thank you.

It is great to be recognised for our hard work. We are not perfect, but we try really hard to be the best we can be. We have been in the Top 20 for many years now and we always look at the names on the list around us and it makes us immensely proud! We are by far the smallest.

2026 is looking like another tough trading environment, but your favourite little Portuguese supplier will keep on striving to make sure your customers are well looked after and drink their vinho verde with a smile on their face!

The Northern Lights Dream Team have set up the room for our tasting tomorrow.

We can't tell you how excited we are. Make sure you come along to the Northern Ballet in Leeds tomorrow and taste over 300 amazing wines from all around the world!

Holidays are over and now it is back to business.

Marta and Kevin are fully relaxed and energised and ready for 2026.

Marta is doing lots of tastings in shops and restaurants that we supply in the next few months (get in touch if you want to host one) and both of them (with other members of the team) will be at the Wines of Portugal tasting on Monday the 23rd of February and the fabulous Northern Lights tasting on Tuesday the 10th of March at the Northern Ballet in Leeds.

The Northern Lights is a tasting that we have put together for the independent sector with a host of other brilliant agencies in the heart of Leeds. We all listened to the complaints about all the great tastings being in London so we created this event years ago and it gets better every year. Wonderful venue, amazing wines, delicious fresh stonebaked pizza lunch, some cool tunes and we will have winemakers as well! A great day out for trade customers from Aberdeen to Birmingham. Cardiff to Edinburgh!

Day 3, and the final day of Wine Paris, is done and dusted. What a wine fair!

Everyone we need and want to see was there and we nearly managed to get round all the producers we work with (it makes us realise the diversity and depth of our portfolio and the quality we bring into the UK).

We met with our Spanish wineries from Alicante and Valencia, Loire producers, Provence, Douro and tried some very interesting organic Cotes d'Auxerre as well (alhough he is a rugby fan and he said we won't do business if England win in France and Kevin said the same if France win the final game..... so maybe it won't materialise 😂).

It has given us a real boost and equipped us well for the challenges and opportunities that 2026 presents to us. There will be new producers, removal of non-performers, enhancements with existing suppliers and label changes on existing wines.

Days like this make us realise that we are very lucky to be scratching a living in the wine world. It is full of fascinating people, friendly producers, exuberant wines and passion from grape to glass.

We have been involved in it for 16 years now and have always worked our hardest to please our producers, our customers and ourselves. Most of the time we have succeeded. Days like this fuel our fires and make us realise that our hard work is noticed and appreciated.

Well done Wine Paris. It really is one hell of an event!

Day one of Wine Paris was a purely Portuguese affair. Great to catch up with so many wonderful Marta Vine producers and try some very interesting wines from potential new suppliers as well!

The Portuguese section is quite a size, it is great to see their growth. We will have to return on Tuesday morning to meet some we didnt get to today ( in 9.5 hours of tasting......it's that big), but then on to France and Italy!!!

If you want to have a speed tasting around some of Portugals best producers, then get in touch and I can give you a guided tour on Wednesday. I'll squeeze you in 😁

It is great to see our producers still believing in what we are doing in the UK. Striving to make Portugal even stronger in the UK market!

Happy New Year from Team Marta Vine.

Thanks to everyone for their support in 2025. It has broken records for us despite extremely difficult economic conditions. So we must be doing something right, but we couldn't do it without you.

2026 will be another challenge and we will do our best to tackle, continue and provide you with some of the best Portuguese, organic, sustainable and well priced wines in the UK.

For now the spectre of Dry January hangs over the hospitality industry. We do have some great options for this troublesome month. We tried many alcohol free wines from all over the world before we found this range from good old Portugal.

The JMF 0%riginal range are wonderful wines to start with before removing the alcohol. Using methods like low-temperature fermentation and dealcoholization that ensures that it preserves flavour.

It's known as Portugal's pioneering alcohol-free wine brand, focusing on authentic taste for social occasions, pairing well with pasta, poultry, and cheeses.

Ssshhhhh.....just between you and me, if you go to the amazing Devonshire Arms in Soho and order the house red, white or rosé, they are from Quinta do Cardo in Portugal. A wonderful winery that I am delighted to import to the UK.

Amazing altitude wines from this delightful organic producer, and the perfect match for a host of delights that are being served at this iconic spot.

Here I am having the red with the steak, but the white Siria with the prawns were a delight. We also have their reservas and grand reservas in the range, that all have that wonderful balance of fruit and freshness.

But don't tell anyone.....it's our secret...OK?

Marta is getting very excited about the 2 new additions we have made to our Portuguese range.

From our friends at Casa Santos Lima we have managed to get our hands on our first island wine! We searched for a long time to get a wine from the middle of the Atlantic. For those who want to try something completely different, try this blend of Arinto dos Açores, Verdelho and Terrantez do Pico from the Azores island of Pico's volcanic soils. A unique, complex wine with a savoury aroma blended with orange, in the mouth it charms with its zesty and saline character outlined by sour apple, lanolin and lime. Aromatic, vertical and even a touch sour, enjoy this unique wine with food. 91 points in Decanter!!!

Secondly we have the Cod Fish Loureiro from our friends at Adega Ponte da Barca. This is a new label for our already popular Loureiro Vinho Verde. Fresh, mineral, saline......you know this wine.....now it is in much better packaging!
