Bourgogne to start the week, anyone?

Review #907 Domaine Guy et Yvan Dufouleur 2023 Haute Cotes De Nuits Cuvée Demoiselle Huguette
Pretty floral nose, vanilla oaked spice, citrus and a touch of stonefruit. Palate has all those components, plus a little fullness and a wonderful freshness from a bit of acidic zing, with a lovely persistent finish. What a wine and at only £32.50 well worth seeking out to this certainly punches well above its weight

🍇🍇🍇🍇
For 16 generations, the Dufouleur family has been making wines in Nuits-Saint-Georges, at the heart of Burgundy’s renowned Côte de Nuits. Their vineyards stretch from Fixin to Santenay, embracing the remarkable World Heritage climates of Burgundy.

This Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits is a round yet fresh wine with perfect balance and lively ageing potential

Syrah at its best....

Review #905 Domaine des Entrefaux 2022 This is drinking superbly. Some lovely black fruit, leather and faint oak on the nose. The mouth has more blackberries, smooth tannins, good depth, then a little red fruit perculates through, with a touch of pepper and oak spice. Great balance and it is so fresh. Lovely wine. The is a tour de force.

This is more than typical from the northern and one that should be on everyone's list to seek out to £30.50

Thanks Anna for this wonderful sample

The Grand Cercle des Vins de Bordeaux En Primeur Tasting delivered an exciting first glimpse of the 2025 vintage 🍷

Set against the stunning backdrop of St. Paul's Cathedral at Sabine Rooftop, this year’s tasting marked a fresh chapter for Bordeaux — in a new venue and with a renewed energy.

With 25+ crus from over 100 châteaux, the diversity and quality on show were a powerful reminder of how Bordeaux continues to evolve.

A highlight was seeing Pénélope Godefroy from Maison Dourthe presenting Grand Vin Château de Ricaud — a rough diamond set in natural surrounds in the Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, and a wine ranking among the finest of the appellation.
