Down to Earth Down to Earth is a training and surplus food community cafe in the market town of Wantage. We use seasonal ingredients and surplus food.

Down to Earth is a community cafe and training kitchen offering affordable healthy meals, and a warm and safe space. We promote social inclusion, healthy, affordable eating and environmental sustainability. The cafe is open during the week and our other activities take place on Saturdays, including:

Community cooking events: Large cooking events designed to create a sociable space to cook and sha

re meals, reducing social isolation and using food surplus. Working with GP practices to create socially prescribed cooking classes. The Down to Earth Lunch Club and Chop and Chat sessions are creative cooking sessions where we share ideas and prepare meals using everyday ingredients, explore flavour combinations, and learn how to reduce food waste in the home. We work with children and adults. Small Steps is a homework and environmental activities club for Years 4-6, held on a Saturday morning. The community meal every Tuesday, is a warm and safe space to come and meet others with a free meal for the whole community regardless of whether you are struggling from the cost of living crisis or not. Please remember, and remind others that our monthly community meal is tomorrow. Everyone is very welcome to join us, whether or not you are struggling with extra costs - it's a great social space. Meal is served between 11:45 and 1.45pm ❤️❤️❤️
