What an absolute delight it is to meet the women behind the coffee we roast in real life🤌

Working in coffee means it can be pretty rare to actually meet the women who grow, produce and create the coffees we get to roast - so when we do, we feel VERY lucky!

A cupping. What the f**k is that?

We do it in the roastery all the time and we love being invited to do them at other businesses, but we'll be the first to admit it's a strange experience. Slurping coffee loudly off a spoon while trying to sound like you know what you're talking about. Very normal behaviour.

It serves a purpose but here's our problem with it. If you drink iced lattes, you are never going to fall in love with a coffee by tasting it black from a spoon??? And the intimidation factor is real. No one wants to be the person in the room who slurps wrong.

So we're done calling it cupping. It's just a tasting now. Come as you are, drink it how you like it.

Rise & Grind is a 50/50 blend of Specialty Canephora and Specialty Arabica, made to get you up, out and doing the damn thing.

Brought to you by Nafeesa Esmail in Uganda and the team at Mio in Brazil. Coffea Canephora (Robusta) has been overlooked for far too long. But with climate change making some land increasingly difficult for Arabica production, we think it’s time we started paying attention to what Canephora can bring to the cup and to producers.

When producers like Nafeesa are growing specialty Robusta/Canephora this good, we reckon the future is looking pretty exciting!
