How do I order eggs? -
There is no need to book in advance unless you require large quantities, just pop by at your convenience to pick up from our stand just inside the front gate. What type of birds do you care for? -
We care for Hybrid chickens, Cream Crested Legbar chickens, Call ducks, Pekin ducks and Embden geese. Which type of eggs do you sell? -
Starting at the smallest:
- Call duck eggs are on the small side, have the same texture as normal size duck eggs and great if you don't have a large appetite!
- Chicken eggs vary in size, boxes are mixed but you may get a lucky double yolker! Sizes are generally equivalent to large and extra large from a supermarket, but taste so much better.
- Embden goose eggs are a meal in themselves, around 4 times larger than a chicken egg. A stronger flavour than a chicken egg but slightly milder than a duck egg. They are great for a rich flavour/colour in baking too! Are your eggs available all year round? -
Call duck eggs are available spring - summer time. Chicken eggs are available during the spring, summer & autumn. Pekin duck eggs are available during the spring, summer & autumn. Embden goose eggs are available during the spring.
