Wath CC 1st XI vs Monk Bretton CC 1st XI

Monk Bretton won the toss and chose to bowl β€” a decision that looked promising early on as Wath had to work hard after a positive start. Patience and partnerships became key, with Imran Shah anchoring the innings superbly. After reaching his 50, he accelerated brilliantly to finish unbeaten on 120*. Strong support came from Isaac Wainwright, Mikey Denton and James Wainwright as Wath posted 218.

Wath then backed it up in the field with an outstanding team performance. Tight bowling and intense fielding kept the pressure on throughout, with Imran Shah starring again with 5 wickets and Joshua Burrows taking 4 as Monk Bretton were bowled out for 98.

A dominant all-round display and the full 12 points for Wath under the captaincy of Mark Barlow, amazingly his first game (and possibly his last 🀣) as 1st team captain. πŸ™ŒπŸ

JUNIOR UPDATE

It's only Wednesday but we've already had three games this week so far.

On Monday our U11s lost to Wombwell Main in a very good game - with Sam W the outstanding player.

On the same day our U17s also lost away at Cawthorne. James W top scored with 35.

Yesterday gave us better news as our U13s beat Monk Bretton with Lee C retiring on 30 and Joey A producing outstanding figures of 3/3 from 3 overs.

Well done everyone!

JUNIOR TRAINING!

Don't forget it's Friday - which means it's Junior Night!

We'll have our All Stars, Dynamos and all hard ball age groups as usual this evening. And don't forget the bar will be open for all you grown ups too!

Everyone is welcome from 5pm and enjoy your Friday evening....

Our U15s got soaked last night in the glorious British Summertime but still managed to emerge with the victory against Pen*stone.

Batting first at HQ we made 134/2 (Isaac W 44*, Joey W 43*, Will A 19*) and after a torrential downpour we restricted our visitors to 107/7 with the wickets shared.

Cracking effort everyone!
