A little bit of 🍓 🐾 AMSR today courtesy of the resident four legged helpers. These are some of the delicious strawberries from Berries Direct Farming in Hempnall, these berries don’t meet the standards of UK retailer buyers, too big, too small, wrong shape etc... Unlike imported fruit these berries ripen on the plant, not in transit and are packed full of flavour, juicy strawberry goodness and perfect for making jam.

Of course, when we have left overs, the dogs like a little snacky snack 🍓

A sneak peak behind the scenes at the Great Taste Awards judging rooms …

I love the Great Taste Awards season, on a judging day you just never know what’s going to be on the plate, in the jar, or bottle on the table.

And of course there’s always the hope/expectant anticipation the bell will sound for an amazing three star product that’s been discovered on my watch!

Such a privilege to share the joy of good food and drink with talented foodies from every corner of our industry.

Gooseberry Jam just doesn’t get the attention it deserves.

Sweet, sharp and packed with flavour, it’s a traditional favourite that keeps people coming back for “just one more spoonful”.

Perfect on toast, wonderful with scones and surprisingly good paired with cheese, our Gooseberry Jam is a little reminder that sometimes the classics are classics for a reason.

Great Taste Awards 2022 2 Stars, the judges said…

“Upon opening the jar, there was a lovely citrus burst that was very pleasing. There was a soft set to the marmalade with delicate strips of lemon peel running through and evenly distributed. The flavour was well balanced between the sweet and sharp and we felt this would be lovely on buttered toast.”
