New Wine of the Moment- Valley of the Sun, Bekaa Valley, Lebanon. A great introduction to Lebanese wine and perfect BBQ lamb or similar. Only a few cases available so it won’t last long! It’s been a good year for my vines with plenty of grapes starting to ripen. I’d love to have the time to do something with them but alas not. If any of you are home winemakers and fancy some more grapes feel free to get in touch! I can’t remember the variety (planted over 10 years ago) but Solaris rings a bell!

A lovely end to a busy and chaotic (weather wise) week spending some time Fenny Castle Vineyard . Just a 15 minute bike ride from my house, a beautiful place producing some very good wines indeed. We’re very lucky to have such a genuinely great local vineyard to . Nice to catch up with my very good and oldest friend markjeffs and drag my daughter along for the ride. Have a good weekend and thanks for a busy week!

The weather has been showing us who’s boss over the last 24 hours. Storms and floods yesterday and power cuts today. The wine shop has been relatively lucky with just a bit of flooding and some electric+water issues but lucky enough to open today unlike some neighbours. Please, now is the time to support all of our local independent businesses who work so hard and will really appreciate it. Plus, when you spend local the chances are your hard earned pounds also get re-spent locally and that helps a strong local economy. I think ‘local’ is the theme here. I’m opening a bit earlier at 9am and closing a bit earlier at 2pm for the next couple of days as the kids are off school and the shop gets hot!
