This weekend goes back in time to when land girls were tending the fields where our vineyard now grows. Back then essentials like wheat were scarce and every inch of every the farm was cultivated for food production.

As you can see from these photos from our final **eSafari of the season, the grass in the vineyard was still looking a little parched but thankfully the vines are tolerating the conditions a little better and the recent rain has brought back some much needed vitality to our pastures.

Thanks to many local rivers and good access to grain, our area has a wealth of water mills which you can visit and one where you can even make your own flour.
