Planting season is underway on the farm 🚜🎄

This week we’ve been using the tractor to plant this year’s new Christmas trees, setting out the next generation of trees for future festive seasons.

People often only think about Christmas trees when December comes round, but out here they’re looked after right through the year. Days like today make a real difference — plenty of sunshine helps the trees put on steady growth and keeps them looking healthy for the months ahead.

Years of work go into every tree, and spring is one of the most important times of all.

🚜 Tractor and Excavator Operator (Farm & Rural Estate) 🌲

We are looking for an experienced tractor operator, ideally also with experience on an excavator to join our team on a busy Christmas tree farm and rural estate near West Calder.

👇 Key Duties
• Operating tractors/ excavators for a variety of farm and estate tasks
• Land preparation, crop spraying and work on specialised Christmas Tree Tractor
• Assisting with wider farm operations when required

✅ What We’re Looking For
• Proven tractor driving experience (essential)
• Good mechanical awareness and confidence with machinery
• Excavator experience and forklift/telehandler certification are an advantage but not essential

⭐ Contract & Benefits
• Temporary or permanent positions available
• Employed or self-employed arrangements considered
• Competitive pay based on experience
• Varied work in a friendly rural environment
• Temporary accommodation available if required
