Spanglicious.

Even when the genetic potential is clearly present within the bloodline, the examples remain rare, unpredictable and properly special.

This carp, which became affectionately known as “Lightning”, was the first of our stockies to reach 6 inches. I remember Litchy saying, “It’s as big as my hand!”

Lightning stayed well ahead of his peers throughout the growing process, and I’ve got high hopes for him in Stoneacres.

Got the frame of a future 50lber, I reckon! 🤞

I remember this carp catching my eye when it was just a couple of inches long. An absolute pleasure to finally stock it into Stoneacres earlier this year.

Imagine if it makes 40lb… 🤯🐋

.1 is notoriously ruthless when it comes to us growing on commons. So ruthless, in fact, that out of the thousands of carp we’ve graded through together, we’ve only ever kept one!

This is her.

Same time next year.

It wasn’t just Stoneacres that received a few special additions for the future recently, we sprinkled a few seeds into Church and Willow too. This Lin is going to be a serious fish in years to come… watch this space!

I’d had my eyes on this one since we first graded it out at just a couple of inches long. I might have even told .1 that it was my favorite fish of the year class —which, considering some of the others, is a bold statement. Now residing in Stoneacres, I can’t wait to see it fulfill its full potential.
