LOCAL PRODUCE IS FLOODING IN - NEW MEAT/KEFIR/SOURDOUGH BREAD AND HONEY!
More exciting meat news! We have been so pleased with the way the Jurassic Coast fine food has been going. Lots of good feedback about the lovely quality of the meat and cheese. Now, I am very happy to announce that we have some even more local meat to offer! I KNOW! We have some superb pork from East Bexington Farm which as most of you will know is just up the hill. It is beautiful, milk-fed pork and it looks very fine indeed. We have some belly pork and shoulder joints and will soon have some sausages and other cuts. Come on down and have a look but if you're carrying a little extra timber be careful, we might eye you up and start basting you...hahahaha!
ALSO NEW AND LOCAL - we now have a kefir drink available courtesy of Dorset Dairy Co. in plain and fruit flavours.
PLUS Sgt Bun the baker is now supplying us with a white sourdough loaf. Delicious.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST - lots of fabulous village honey coming in at the moment and the new season's supply is probably the best ever.

The Friday Meat Report - this just in...
Well, it's going to be hot apparently so I have majored in the old barbecue fodder this weekend.

We have several large BBQ packs - containing sausages, 2 plain steaks, two marinaded steaks and some sticky chicken drumsticks
Lamb kofta kebabs
Also:
Chicken drumsticks in a BBQ glaze
Chicken wings in garlic butter.
Pork ribs in BBQ glaze
Beef sirloin steaks
Thick pork chops
Unsmoked back bacon
A large bone-in shoulder of lamb
PLUS
some Lubborn Somerset brie and smoked Dorset Red cheddar.

We have also got some gorgeous Dorset charcuterie, courtesy of local venture, Capreolus. Having just road tested it I can confirm it is absolutely delicious. We have some pepperoni and also a pack of mixed meats.

Hope your weekend and week ahead are glorious and remember, budgie smugglers and barbecues do not go well together...so think on.

Bone-in lamb shoulder (smaller than the monster I ordered first time round, which, btw, was melt-in-the-mouth delicious)

News from your village shop! (vegetarians look away now...)
Following the closure of our village farm shop we decided that now was the time to upgrade our meat section and give more choice
to our customers. Jurassic Coast Fine Foods got in touch and we are very happy to begin supplying a selection of their excellent local meat and other products. From Friday 8th May we will have beef joints, pork, lamb, sausages and all manner of fine produce available. We will continue to have some of our Spar affordable essentials like chicken, mince and steak but you will also have the opportunity to buy the very high quality Jurassic products too.
If you would like to order cuts of meat we will be able to do that too. 🐄🐑🐖
