Had an absolutely fantastic visit to The Fellsider in Whickham! As someone who needs gluten- and dairy-free options, it’s not always easy to find somewhere that truly delivers on both taste and quality — but their gluten and dairy free burger was superb. Honestly, one of the best I’ve had. Full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and you’d never feel like you were missing out on anything.
The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about allergens, which made the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable. You can really tell they care about their customers.
Highly recommend — whether you have dietary requirements or not, this place is an absolute gem!

A Cosy, Delicious Find in Durham Indoor Market The Nook

We had the pleasure of visiting a wonderful little cafe tucked away in the Durham Indoor Market today, and we couldn't be more impressed. Specializing in vegan and gluten-free treats, this place is an absolute gem.

We started with some baked goods and were blown away by a decadent custard cream brookie and a perfectly zesty lemon curd stuffed cookie. Everything is clearly made with love, as we learned all the treats are homemade on site. To top it off, we couldn't resist trying the ice-cream and were so glad we did—mint choc chip and raspberry ripple,fantastic.

The atmosphere of the cafe is super cosy and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to relax. The staff were also incredibly knowledgeable about their products and were genuinely friendly, which made the experience even better.

This cafe is definitely worth a visit, whether you follow a specific diet or not. The treats are simply amazing, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and friendly stop in Durham.

We popped into The White Swan in Ovingham for a lunchtime special and were thoroughly impressed! This pub truly shines, offering excellent choices on their menu, a fantastic understanding and provision for gluten-free diners.

We opted for the hot beef sandwich, which came perfectly served with delicious hand-cut chips and a fresh salad. It was not only incredibly tasty but also offered excellent value for money.

Overall, a truly fab pub with great food, great value, and a real commitment to catering for all dietary needs. Highly recommend!

It’s tricky to find somewhere in the Metro Centre to enjoy a coffee and a sweet treat but the newly refurbished Muffin Break always has a couple of options. We enjoyed a mixed berry muffin with a caramel oat latte and an iced oat matcha.

What a find Seaglass Cafe Sunderland is! If you're looking for fantastic gluten-free and dairy-free choices, this is your spot. Their friendly, knowledgeable staff made recommendations easy, and we thoroughly enjoyed our two oat lattes, a divine gluten-free and dairy-free Victoria sponge, and a cherry almond slice. What an absolute delight it was to visit Some Beans today in Rowlands Gill! This gorgeous little cafe is, without a doubt, a true gem and an essential stop for anyone seeking a perfect coffee and an incredibly welcoming atmosphere.

From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with such a warm and inviting vibe. The staff are super friendly, always ready with a smile, and they genuinely make you feel right at home. It's that kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable and relaxed.

What truly sets Some Beans apart is their dedication to catering for everyone. As someone who appreciates good options, We are always so impressed by their consistently available and utterly delicious gluten-free and dairy-free treats. It's such a relief and a joy to know there's always something wonderful to indulge in. Today, we sampled their Cherry Bakewell tart, and it was nothing short of divine – moist, flavourful, and utterly scrumptious.
