Great yorkshire show 2026
Mega week at the show spending time with friends and family, topped off with unbelievable results. Thanks to the judge Ellie Alvis. Real family effort to get there and get the sheep ready. Great crack with the Hampshire family who always help each other out and give encouragement. Well done to all the other competitors.

It's been a busy month carrying out a few judging appointments. I had the privelage of been asked to judge the Scottish National sale and the NI national show for the hamps. The standard of sheep is certainly on the up. Great to see plenty of young and new breeders. The effort put in by both clubs for these shows and sales to run smoothly was clear to see.

A selection of ewe lambs will for sale off farm. Various blood lines. These are farm fresh and will continue to grow on.

lot 2. Ct scanned very low fat and our highest eye muscle area. Great colour.

Substitute for Lot 75. This was a keeper but a glitch in the Matrix has changed our plans. Whitby A072600380 (UK 0135775/00380)
Really strong lamb with great presence. High index with the third highest muscle depth EBV for a ewe lamb currently on the Signet system. Muscle depth figure of 4.03 which is almost double the top 1% threshold of 2.19! In the top 10 of ewe lambs for Carcass Conformation EBV at 1.17, well over the top 1% threshold that is 0.81. fresh from the field this week so just a trim and no wash.

Lot 76. Seriously wide and powerful ewe lamb. Very high index. Fantastic colour.

lot 3 for Shrewsbury. A stocky very well muscled Marshel son from a strong Dracula ewe. Top 1% for muscle depth and carcase conformation.
